Pre-enrollment for Secondary Education (ESO)
If you’re interested in getting to know our school, you’ll need to follow some procedures, some of which are carried out directly from the school and others through the specific application provided by the Department of Education for families.
Schedule an Informational Visit
You can schedule a personal visit with the stage director by contacting us via telephone: 93 444 90 00 ext.2, or by filling out the visit request form.
During the visit, we’ll provide you with detailed information about:
- the educational project of the school
- the organization of the ESO stage in particular
- available places
We’ll respond to any questions and queries you may have.
Submit the Pre-registration Request
If you consider IPSI to be your school and want to start the pre-registration process with us, we’ll get in touch with you a few days before the start of the official pre-registration period, determined by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya. We’ll guide you on how to complete the first step, which is filling out the online pre-registration form provided by the Department of Education. We guarantee support throughout the entire process.
Place Assignment Process
Upon receiving your pre-registration request, the Department of Education, through the Barcelona Education Consortium, verifies and assigns points to each request according to priority criteria (siblings already studying at the requested centre, proximity to the family home, distance of the parent’s/guardian’s workplace from the centre, etc.)
Requests with higher scores are the first to guarantee place allocation. In the event of a tie, candidates are entered into a draw. Those who don’t manage to initially enter remain on a waiting list in case a place becomes available.
As you know, until the age of 16, all students have a place in an educational centre. However, not everyone is guaranteed their first-choice.
Final Enrollment Process
Upon publication of the list of admitted students to each centre, enrollment at the school must be formalized within the period established by the local government.
Meeting between the Student and the Stage Management and Coordination
At the end of the pre-registration and enrollment process (late June), all admitted students admitted at this level are received with their families by the school. The aim of this initial meeting is to officially welcome them to the school, provide reassurance and confidence to the new student regarding the change of centre and manage practical matters, such as choosing optional subjects and management of books and materials.
Meeting between the Student and the Tutor
A few days before starting the school year, new students are invited to the school to meet their tutor. This meeting allows for personal and individualised contact with the person who will be their reference during the school year at their new school.
