AFA (School Families Association)

The Association of families (AFA IPSI), is made up of all the students’ families, from infants to sixth form, since once the student is enrolled in the school, the families automatically become part of the AFA.

Board, goals and achivements

Our goal is to defend the interests of the school’s students, as well as to collaborate in improving the quality of teaching and school life. We maintain constant communication with the school to identify needs and to propose initiatives which seek to improve coexistence, the quality of teaching and the well-being of the students.

Every two years, the member families of the AFA elect the board, which is responsible for the day-to-day running of the association. The board liases with the school on a range of issues throughout the year and organises activities aimed at both families and students of all ages..

The board meets once a month to manage such matters and soon we hope to have an elected delegate to act as the spokesperson for each class.

We are proud of our achievements, which include the installation of air conditioning in the P3 classrooms, the fruit breakfast routine in P3, and the publication of the school and foundation fees broken down in the Clickedu application.

Activities we organise

The activities we organise include:

  • Welcome party for P3, organised in collaboration with the school.
  • Talks aimed at families on topics of interest.
  • Book club: we propose a book to read and discuss it with the author.
  • Exchange of reading books.
  • Collaboration with El Fil, the school magazine.
  • Bookmark awards for Sant Jordi.
  • Sixth form research work awards.
  • Book socialisation project.
  • The solidarity race and aperitif.

Additionally, we manage the FAO (orphanship fund), a voluntary orphanage insurance that covers mandatory schooling expenses up to the second year of sixth form. The fee varies and is different to the AFA annual fee.
